Instrumental Music

The Reservoir High School Instrumental Music Program is an extension of the Classroom Music Program, providing students with a positive learning environment to develop musical ability and explore their creativity.

At Reservoir High School, we believe that music plays a significant role in a child’s overall education. Participating in the Instrumental Music Program provides students with an invaluable experience to develop both technical skill and artistic expression on their chosen instrument. It also allows for fostering self-discipline, time management, memory skills and concentration. By participating in a teacher-led ensemble, students develop skills in teamwork, creativity, and self-esteem, whilst also building positive relationships with fellow students and staff. Learning an instrument also allows students to appreciate how music affects their own lives as well as those around them.

Instrumental Music at RHS is guided by our core principles: Diversity, Respect, Excellence, Success.

Diversity:
All students are welcomed into the IM program at Reservoir High School.

Respect:
Students are taught the value of respect for themselves as musicians, others, and equipment.

Excellence:
Students are encouraged to strive for their best in all aspects of their music education.

Success:
Achievements are celebrated through the many performance opportunities throughout each school year.

At Reservoir High School, students can choose between the following instruments:

  • Voice
