Reservoir High School values student leadership and is committed to creating an environment in which the student voice is genuinely acknowledged, nurtured, celebrated and one that ultimately effects positive change within the school community. Students can hold formal leadership positions in Year 12 or be a Student Representative Council member, which is currently a voluntary position. The school offers a range of leadership experiences including the Year 9 School for Student Leadership program and the Advance program in Years 9 and 10. Our Student Leaders, including the School Captains, Sports Captains and Performing Arts Captains are responsible for identifying, implementing and evaluating whole school initiatives. This enables students to feel respected, empowered and highly involved in the decision making process. The SRC is dynamic, full of energy and has a key role in the school and the Year 12 School Captains meet regularly with the Principal and elected Student Leaders are voting members on the School Council.

RHS Leaders — 2025
Indi Quinn
School Captain
Hi, I’m Indi and I am honoured to be one of Reservoir High School’s 2025 School Captains.
I am a friendly and approachable individual, who has a passion for physical activity and overall wellbeing. I love dancing, playing netball, going to the football and spending time with my family and friends.
As a leader, it is essential to create an environment that empowers every student to succeed, grow and have their voice heard. I am passionate about supporting the strengths and talents of all of those around me to ensure that each student feels a sense of belonging and purpose. Ultimately, my goal as a leader is to have students feel excited to come to school each day knowing the teachers and the leadership team have created an environment and culture where students are cared for, valued, happy and set up for success no matter what challenges they face.
I believe a leader is someone who inspires, and I will take this honoured opportunity as School Captain to have a positive impact on the students, not merely through my words but through my actions.
Giving back to the community is an important focus that recognises that you are part of something much bigger than just yourself. I have been fortunate to have incredible opportunities at Reservoir High School to provide service. In my spare time I volunteer as a junior netball coach and a runner at a junior football club.
After school I wish to complete a Bachelor of Nursing and pursue a career in Paediatric Health Care. I would also like to continue my involvement with junior sport working with teen youth to instil the positive impact of physical activity and over wellbeing.
I am excited to see all that we will accomplish, whether we are tackling challenges or celebrating successes. I’m committed to supporting each of you and making sure our school continues to thrive.
Rosie Norton
School Captain
Hi, my name is Rosie, and I am honoured to be one of the School Captains for Reservoir High School in 2025. It gives me great pleasure and pride to be part of the leadership team this year, playing my role in making our school community the very best it can be.
In my free time I love to bake, play tennis, spend time with my friends, listen to music, and give my two dogs lots of cuddles.
Throughout my years at Reservoir High I have received awards, helped at many school events, and have completed my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards. This year I am continuing this by completing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. The skills I have developed through this, along with my passion for helping others, has helped me strive to become a leader of this school.
Last year I completed Health and Human Development as an early VCE subject, which helped me to uncover my love for health, making me consider a career in the food health industry as a Dietitian. I am also considering getting my university degree in Education, majoring in Primary School teaching, or becoming a Veterinary Nurse.
I look forward to collaborating with all students in our school and I am excited to be able to work with and represent our school one last time in my final year of high school.
I can’t wait for the year ahead – it will be the end of an era.
Vivien Tang
SRC President
Hello, my name is Vivien, and it is both my honour and privilege to serve as one of Reservoir High School’s 2025 Student Representative Council Presidents.
For those who don’t know me, I am a highly driven student with a bottomless desire to consume and consolidate knowledge. My primary interests lie in the science field, but I also appreciate the art of writing and language. In the past couple years, I have honed my public speaking and communication skills through participating in the Reservoir High School Debating Team. As a whole, I am a confident learner, listener, and leader, who constantly strives to better myself and those around me.
In terms of after graduation, in the distant future I hope to find myself working a fulfilling job in the medical field using my skills for the betterment of my local community’s health and wellbeing. I say distant future as despite my high aspirations, I hold a strong belief that one should never be too rigid in their thinking. While planning goals for the future keep an individual motivated, enjoying the journey on the way is just as important as the destination.
As a student who has been at this school for all six years of my high school education, I am simultaneously enthusiastic and grateful to have been granted the opportunity to give back to the community that has helped me learn and grow during my adolescence.
With the new leadership structure at Reservoir High School launching for the first time in 2025, I look forward to collaborating with my fellow leaders to reinforce and build upon the pre-existing leadership culture at this school and lead it to new heights. Whether this manifests in the form of further fostering the strong House culture within the school or enabling the student body to have a voice that is heard through the Student Representative Council.
I am confident that this year will be an extremely fruitful year for the continued growth of this wonderful community.
Jake Proctor
SRC President
Hello, I’m Jake Proctor and I am one of the inaugural SRC Presidents for 2025.
I am honoured to be able to fulfill the roles and responsibilities with come with this important position. I hope that alongside my fellow Year 12 Student Leaders and other students across the school, we can work together to maintain and promote our school values and look towards any improvements that could be made.
I am currently undecided about where my future lies and what it will look like. So throughout the year, I’ll be doing a lot of soul-searching while I try my hardest to do as best as I possibly can. I look forward to everything that happens this year.
Also, a firm reminder to all students to get in contact with their elected representatives about things they would like to see changed around the school.
Kasie Gunn
Sports Captain
Hi, I’m Kasie. I am one of the Sports Captains proudly serving as a member of Reservoir High School’s 2025 Year 12 Leadership Team.
I am excited to share my leadership skills with our school community and students by showing that by encouraging my peers with reassurance and being a supportive peer by listening to them and helping where I can.
I am very passionate when it comes to sports, I love getting involved with interschool sports and encouraging my peers to participate or spectate in them as well. I also am a dedicated netball player for Bundoora Bulls Football Club. I value a positive and empathetic environment at school. I enjoy seeing my peers, understanding one another and building strong relationships as a school community. My commitment to sport has taught me skills such as communication, dedication, ambition, teamwork and many more skills I use to this day I will continue to use these skills in my leadership role.
After school I hope to expand my education in Animal Studies with a focus of working in a kennel. I aim to become an animal care attendant in the future.
I want to be the leader that is approachable and understanding for all my peers. I wish you all the best in 2025.
Makayla Thomas
Sports Captain
I am Makayla and I am honoured be one of your 2025 Year 12 Sports Captains here at Reservoir High School.
I am a creative and motivated individual who loves to socialize with friends and family, go on day trips, play different sports, cook delicious food, eat yummy food and listen to music.
I enjoy taking in and sharing ideas and encourage my leadership skills within the Reservoir High School community. This allows me to express mine and other student voices. I love to hear new ideas and strategies to further strengthen the sporting culture at our school.
My interests revolve around physical activity. I play an array of different sports like soccer, tennis and Little Athletics. Playing sports is my number one favourite hobby. I have spent all six years of my high school adventure at Reservoir High, and I have learnt so much along the way. I’m passionate about sport and supporting my friends, and teammates. Becoming the Sports Captain has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey, and what I’ve learnt is that leadership isn’t just about giving instructions or directives. It is about listening, encouraging and making sports interesting for my fellow peers. I am excited about the future of Sports at Reservoir High School. After school I am still uncertain about what I would like to for my future pathway, but I would like to do something relating to Physical Education. I wouldn’t mind taking a Gap Year to really give myself time to discover other opportunities.
I look forward to working with everyone this year and creating an even more positive environment where all students can enjoy and bring further change towards the school.
Jake Chen
Arts Captain
Hello, I’m Jake Chen, proudly serving as a one of Reservoir High School’s Arts Captain in 2025. I am excited to be working with the school’s Leadership Team, allowing the students’ voices to be heard and suggesting ideas of my own. Using my skills in leadership and fostering it further than it could ever be.
I have participated heavily in the Performing Arts and Music program at our school and want to lead this school in louder and bigger concerts in the near future. I have also participated in Debating, since Year 7, online then in person. I have always loved participating in it.
My hope for this school is to create an environment that is positive, caring and where everyone respects each other. My journey from starting in Year 7 was rocky to say the least, with the instant lockdown from the pandemic. Since lockdown ending, and as a part of the Student Leadership Team, I want to create positive contributions that last for generation of students to come and enjoy.
Growing up, I always loved running and jumping. From primary school to ending high school I began focusing on Badminton instead. As time passed, I quit training myself in Badminton and focused onto volleyball after playing for VVL and playing for La Trobe in Reserves 3. Through these sports, I have learnt the importance of team connection, communication and leadership. Growing up, I want to become a volleyball coach to be the one who can lead and create better players for the future.
In thinking about my future aspirations, what I want to be when I “grow up” and contribute to the world, I do know that I want to become a leader who fosters kindness, trust and being the person that people can come ask for help. I want Reservoir High School to foster the dreams that children have, give them their ideal environment to bloom. Their time to shine across the world.
Leonard Freitag
Arts Captain
Hi, I’m Leonard. I’m proud to be a part of this year’s Student Leadership Team and one of Reservoir High School’s 2025 Arts Captains.
My most important goal in life is to help others no matter what. I believe that Student Leadership is a great way to achieve exactly that.
Personally, I love participating in all sorts of activities and events, both inside and outside of school. I have spent a few years working the Sound and Lighting in the School Production, as well as being a part of the school senior band “Reverse of Usual”. On top of that I enjoy many extra-curriculars such as flying Sailplanes (Gliders), Powered Aircraft, volunteering my time as a Surf Life Saver at South Melbourne LSC, competing in Rescue and Resuscitation and Inflatable Rescue Boat Racing, becoming Unit Leader of our local Scout group and SCUBA diving, just to name a few.
All these hobbies have developed many skills and taught me
diverse life lessons. I wish to use these unique experiences to assist and create a lasting impact on others. I have come to value honesty, communication and perseverance, three things that I believe are key to success and excellence.
My journey through secondary school has been an absolute blast and full of all sorts of opportunities. I have countless stories to tell and memories to reflect on, and I’m sure there are many more to come. I would like to move on knowing others have had a similar experience.
After graduation, I plan on finishing my Diploma in Aviation, receiving my Commercial Pilots Licence and gaining some experience to
ultimately become an Aeromedical Pilot with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) flying the King Air.
Altogether, I want to be a leader that others can look up to, that sets an example through actions, to interact and assist everyone easier and more effectively.
